Gangotri- Gangotri yatra is one of the major parts in the char dham yatra-2011 in Chamoli. Gangotri is the glacier in Himalaya, in northern India and that is the origin of Ganges, the holy river. This Holy pilgrimage of Hindu is located at an absolute altitude of 3,140 meters above sea level. Gangotri is a perfect destination for hill resorts holidays in Chamoli Garhwal. The interesting things about all these char dham Badrinath Kedarnath Gangotri Yamunotri is that they all open at the same season, summer. Gangotri dham is of most significance in Hindu as here the King Bhagirath had penance for thousands of years to bring the down the Bhagirathi(original name of Ganges) on to earth. Yamunotri temple is devoted to sacred river Yamuna which is said to be the daughter of Sun God and the twin sister of Yama (the lord of death) and which is melted form of the Yamunotri glacier. Surrounded with the snow covered mountains and clouds Yamunotri dham makes you believe that this is the place where you find the ultimate peace and bliss. And like Badrinath, Yamunotri is also famous for its natural underwater geysers that are called thermal springs which is a sheer matter of amazement in the freezing temperature.

Day 1: Delhi - Haridwar
Arrive at Delhi where you will be received by our representative. Thereafter, you will drive towards Haridwar by road (5-hr drive). Have your lunch enroute. As and when you arrive at Haridwar, check-in the hotel and make yourself comfortable. Evening is at your leisure. You can visit Har Ki Pauri and attend the arti, or else you can browse the local markets. Have your dinner and stay overnight at the hotel. 

Day 2: Haridwar - Barkot
Following the breakfast, you will leave for Barkot (7-hr drive). On the way, take a halt and enjoy lunch at a roadside restaurant. Resume the journey and take pleasure in the scenic beauty of the surroundings. On reaching there, check-in the hotel and enjoy the spectacular views. Have your dinner and relax in the serene environs. Stay overnight in your room. 

Day 3: Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot
Have your breakfast early in the morning and leave for Phoolchatti (1-hr drive). On arrival, start your trek towards Yamunotri (3 hrs trek) to visit the source of Goddess Yamuna. On reaching, take a holy dip in the hot springs and perform the rituals. Visit the temple of Goddess Yamuna and relax for a while. Have your lunch and trek back to Phoolchatti and then, drive towards Barkot. On reaching, take your dinner and retire for the night in your room. 

Day 4: Barkot - Harsil
Following the breakfast, drive towards Harsil - one amongst the most beautiful valleys in the world (7-hr drive). On the way, visit Gangnani and take a dip in the hot water spring. Have your lunch and resume your journey. On reaching, get into your camp and enjoy delicious dinner in the spectacular surroundings. Stay overnight at the camp. 

Day 5: Harsil - Gangotri - Uttarkashi
Subsequent to the breakfast, drive towards Gangotri which will take around 1 hour. On arrival, take a holy dip in the sacred river, Ganga. Visit the temple and perform the holy rituals. Relax for some time in the beautiful surroundings. Then, drive back to Harshil and have your lunch. Restart your journey to Uttarkashi and on reaching, check-in the hotel. Take your dinner and relax overnight at your hotel. 

Day 6: Uttarkashi - Guptakashi
Have your breakfast early in the morning and drive towards Guptakashi which will take around 9 hrs. On the way, take a halt to relax for some time and have your lunch. Resume the journey and on reaching Guptakashi, check-in the hotel. Make yourself comfortable and have your dinner. Retire for the night in your room. 

Day 7: Guptakashi - Kedarnath
Following the breakfast, drive towards Gaurikund (1-hr drive). On arrival, take a holy dip at Taptakund and start your trek to Kedarnath (14 kms). On reaching, check-in the ashram and visit the temple to perform the holy rituals. Take pleasure in the pious activities. Have your dinner and stay overnight at the ashram. 

Day 8: Kedarnath - Guptakashi
Have your breakfast and trek back to Gaurikund. From there, you will drive back to Guptakashi. On the way, take a halt to have your lunch. As you reach Guptakashi, check-in the hotel and relax for a while. Take your dinner and retire for overnight in your room. 

Day 9: Guptakashi - Joshimath
Subsequent to the breakfast, drive towards Joshimath which would be a 6-7hr drive. On your way, enjoy the lush green valleys and accompanying rivers. Have your lunch enroute. On arrival, check-in the hotel and relax for some time. In the evening, you can explore the locales and markets. Have your dinner and stay overnight at the hotel. 

Day 10: Joshimath - Badrinath
Have your breakfast and leave for Badrinath (2-hr drive). Here, majestic mountains and valleys would come across your sight. On reaching Badrinath, check-in the ashram and take a holy dip in the hot springs. Visit the temple and perform the holy rituals. If you want to, visit the Mana village. Have your dinner and stay overnight at the ashram. 

Day 11: Badrinath - Govind Ghat - Ghangaria
After breakfast at Badrinath, move towards Govindghat (1800 Mtrs). After crossing a suspension bridge reach a small village Pulna. From here, further trek for 9 km to reach Govind Dham. This trail is dotted with waterfalls, wild flowers, forests and beautiful landscapes. You can also visit a village called Bhyundar, on the way. After reaching Ghangaria, enjoy the dinner and overnight stay at ghangaria, amidst natural surroundings. 

Day 12: Ghangaria - Valley of Flower - Ghangaria
After breakfast at Ghangaria, trek up to the most picturesque locales of the tour. Valley of Flowers boasts of species rich meadows, located towards higher altitudes. After this rich experience return back to the hotel at Ghangaria for dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 13: Ghangaria - Hemkund Sahib - Ghangaria
From Ghangarai, trek 5 km to reach maximum elevation at Hemkund Sahib. It is a glacial lake, flanked by a Gurudwara and temple. This serene spot is surrounded by seven snow capped peaks and occupies a prominent place in Sikh and Hindu mythology. Moreover, the dinner and overnight stay will be at Ghangaria 

Day 14: Ghangaria - Govind Ghat - Joshimath
After breakfast at Ghangaria, cover a trek route of 13 km for reaching Govindghat. From here, move ahead to Joshimath, via Vishnuprayag. The dinner and overnight stay will be arranged at the hotel in Joshimath. 

Day 15: Joshimath - Haridwar
After breakfast, we proceed to Haridwar. Here, you can spend your time by leisurely walking in the market places or visiting various temples. This is followed by dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. 

Day 16: Haridwar - Delhi
After a slow breakfast you will travel back to New Delhi. From Delhi you can continue your journey further, cherishing the moments of the tour.
